Pavillion Kuala Lumpur

The pavillion is a new shopping complex situated beside the Old Regent Hotel along Bintang Walk.It caused a bit of traffic during the months building up to the opening. I think it's been opened for a month now. Last friday, whilst in the vicinity, I took the opportunity to visit. WHat strikes you first, is the huge entrance. It drawfs anyone entering it. Parkson and Tangs are on your left...there's a couple of restaurants on the top floor..I got tired after a bit so didn't really get the chance to visit each and every floor.

lifespan of strings

I learnt something new this week, bad music from the violin can be a result of old violin strings. *count*count* My strings are 9 years old at the very least. No wonder I sound bad:) I'm changing them this week...watch this space!!!

Harry potter

Am on page 198 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Finally got around to reading it. Purchased the weekend it came out, I stashed it away for some odd reason. Didn't feel like rushing to read it but yet i knew I would eventually. So two days back, ( after finishing Evan's "a hopeless romantic, a Ms Read book and a georgette heyer's whoddunit) I picked up the book and read. Pretty interesting so far...I'm sure it'll hot up as the chapters go on. No spoilers please:)

Jim Thomson

I must be one of the last not to know who Jim Thomson is/was. He was an American Businessman who revitalized Thai's silk industry. I guess the excitment is the Malaysian link ie he went missing on Easter Sunday whilst walking in Cameron Highlands in Pahang in 1967. Loads ot theories for his disappearance.

Yun Nam

Am I balding? the absolute truth is I don't know. But I'm certainly not sitting about waiting to see what happens next. Last month saw me experimenting with at least three different shampoos.....and hair treatments. And so, the final step is siging up at Yun Nam. The adverts are mighty impressive. My second session on Saturday was good. I think I'm almost getting used to the smell of ginseng. Here's the array of goodies I have to use on a DAILY basis. What with all these...there's hardly any time left for the face. I wonder just how much steroids can be absorped via fingertips. Cos massaging the lotion on a twice a day basis...means quite a bit of steroid seeping its away into the systemic circulation...ie I'm gonna be real fat soon. I think it's started to happen already.

I'm taking EXAMS:)

Okay I've finally decided...to take the first of many steps towards playing like Vanessa Mae...and prepare for some violin exams. Wish me luck:)

Diary of an ordinary woman.....by Margaret Forster. I bought this book from MPH Midvalley about a month back. Only reason I was attracted to it was the author. Have you ever had this compulsion to read all books by the same author ( when the first book you ever read was compelling ??)....The title was unattractive. So I left it and got absorbed with Georgette Heyer's mystery novel. Read three of them back to back. It's true and good advive never read a book unless you're in the right mood. Otherwise it'll be spoilt forever.

Currently at page 164. It's such a good book I feel I want to tell everybody to go out and get a copy. Forster meets 99 year old Milicent King, who has been keeping diaries of her childhood. The entries are written in simple and clear English. It's a really really good book.

I would like to live by the beach. Did I ever tell you the first five years of my life was spent in a house beside the sea? I can still remember the sound of the waves at night, heard clearly through the open window lulling me to sleep.

The relaxation gadget.

No matter how many times I sit out at KLCC park, gazing at the fountain, I just can't believe we have a spot of greenery in the city centre. A short word about sitting down doing absolutely nothing outdoors, BRILLIANT.The peculiar satisfaction in most Malaysian teenagers in indulging in this their cheapest past time, reflects the element of human nature; the need to sniff fresh pure air.
